Your Town: FCSO Police Athletic League raises over $10,000 for sports programs

The money was raised at the annual "A Night of Stars" fundraiser.

PAL raises $10,000

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office Police Athletic League hosted a fundraiser on Sept. 29 at Plantation Bay Golf and County Club called "A Night of Stars."

PAL Director Kim Hale said the organization exceeded its $10,000 goal, which will go into PAL's efforts to connect with local youth through sport programs.

There was an auction-type bidding for the goal of winning a ride-along with FCSO Sheriff Rick Staly. Two of the three winners ended up bidding the same amount, so Staly honored all three winners, Hale said.

Penny Buckles donated $1,100, Tom Gibbs Jr. (of Tom Gibbs Chevy) donated $1,100 and Terranova’s Pizzeria donated $1,500 — all earning a certificate and future ride-along with Staly.
