Yoga instructor Jillian Davis has been teaching yoga for over ten years.
Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is now offering a Monday morning yoga class throughout the month of March.

The ocean view provides a beautiful and serene setting for a gentle yoga practice.
“Take a deep breath in starting with your lower abdomen and slowly expanding into your chest,” said Jillian Davis, yoga instructor at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park. “Now slowly exhale, let your eyes close and allow yourself to hear the ocean.”
“When we implement nature into our yoga practice it helps you go into a deeper meditative state. Breathing in the fresh air and hearing the birds chirping with the ocean waves, it brings peacefulness and adds a whole new dynamic to a yoga practice.”

Throughout the month of March, Washington Oaks Gardens State Park is offering a gentle yoga class every Monday morning. Each class is taught in a natural setting by yoga instructor Jillian Davis.
“When we implement nature into our yoga practice it helps you go into a deeper meditative state,” Davis explained. “Breathing in the fresh air and hearing the birds chirping with the ocean waves, it brings peacefulness and adds a whole new dynamic to a yoga practice.”
Davis guided the yogis through over an hour of gentle postures, all the while concentrating on Ujjayi breathing. The class was held on the sandy beach just across the street from the main entrance to the park. The class is suited for yogis of all levels.
“This is my first time ever trying yoga,” said Jeanette Flores. “I am excited to build a deeper connection with nature while building my practice.”
The class starts at 9 a.m. every Monday in March at Washington Oaks Gardens State Park, 6400 N. Oceanshore Blvd. Call 446-6783 for more information.
