Bob and Judy Vaniglia have had their trials in life. Bob is a disabled Vietnam veteran and still battles the affects of Agent Orange. Judy has had three heart attacks and then heart transplant surgery. But life got a little more comfortable for them, thanks to the generosity of a Daytona Beach company.
As part of the Pay It Forward Thanksgiving Donation promotion, All Volusia and Flagler Heating and Air LLC took nominations and, over a month-long process, interviewed the finalists and settled on the Vaniglias to receive a free four-ton 14 SEER RUUD Heat Pump System, which is valued online at $2,000 to $3,000.
On Saturday, Nov. 19, employees of the family-owned company volunteered their time and visited the Vaniglias at their Palm Coast home and installed the system. According to a press release from Brian Madalena, who handles business development for All Volusia and Flagler Heating and Air, every member of the company got to meet Vaniglias and help in the process. Madalena wrote, “We enjoyed giving back to our community and hope to be able to continue this again in years to come.”
Cypress Knoll golf course restaurant reopens
Doug Brown and Janice Reid, owners of Cypress Knoll Golf and County Club, have reopened the restaurant at the golf course, now called The Players Room. Chef Bruce Ganem and front-end Manager Wanda Dearth have been hired as part of the reopening.

Chef Bruce Ganem is from Rhone Island and moved to Flagler County to raise his children. He has attained the level of Master Chef from the American Culinary Federation and has over 25 years experience as an executive chef, chef de cuisine and sous chef.
Wanda Dearth has also recently joined the restaurant as the front-end manager. Wanda had vacationed in Flagler County for years and moved here two years ago. She lives in Flagler Beach. Wanda enjoys creating her own drinks for customers, including a salted caramel apple martini.
The restaurant is also hosting a holiday jazz concert benefiting local charity Christmas Come True. Tickets are $35 per person, and include a concert by jazz singer Linda Cole & Ensemble. Cocktail attire is suggested. RSVP by calling 302-1290 or visiting the club at 53 Easthampton Blvd. in Palm Coast.
