Palm Coast Little League celebrated opening day on Saturday, March 2.
Forty-three teams, 400 families and nearly 600 kids.
That's who showed up at the Indian Trails Sports Complex on the morning of Saturday, March 2, for the opening day of Palm Coast Little League's 2019 season.
It marked the 19th season of the league, which is the largest official little league in the Northeast Coast district. Games were played from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"This is a big day for us, and we try to make opening day bigger and bigger every year," Palm Coast Little League President Peter Schoembs said. "We reach out to the community, and they reach out to us."
Schoembs has been with involved with Palm Coast Little League for the past eight years. He was previously on the Board of Directors for five years. This season marks his first as president of the league.
"I love it," he said. "Getting to this moment... it's a lot of hard work. But it's worth it."
