Palm Coast Little League's 14U loses in sectional tournament

Palm Coast Little League's 14-and-under all-star team was down two runs entering the sixth inning against Merritt Island. With one out already on the board, a Merritt Island hitter popped up a ball toward Palm Coast's closing pitcher.

He dropped the sure-out and overthrew first base. Merritt Island scored two runs on the error.

Palm Coast, which defeated Callahan 13-3 earlier in the day, lost to Merritt Island 4-0 in the Little League sectional tournament on Saturday, July 14, at the Indian Trails Sports Complex.

“Most of these kids, it’s their first time playing on this field, and I’m really, really proud of them," head coach Dennis Redican said. “We’ll be back at sectionals next year.”
