The salon has given free haircuts once a year before the start of school since 2010.
For seven years, Olga's Hair Salon has given free haircuts to children in Flagler County who need it. On Aug. 7, 49 youth visited the salon, located at 269 Old Moody Blvd., to get a fresh trim before heading back to school on Aug. 10.
With scissors and combs at the ready, five stylists geared up to give back to local kids on Monday. At this year's event, the salon told the visiting families about Emmanuel's Closest, which provides free clothing to those who need it, to make sure children have everything they need for the upcoming school year.
Dunkin Donuts and Walmart also donated food and beverages for the event.
"I do it a few days before school so they can go in with a nice, clean cut," Salon owner Olga Hernandez said. "It's about paying it forward because the blessing comes from God."
