After getting married on Aug. 20, Tom Nugent and new wife Kelli Bledsoe are opening their new store, Flagler Bike Run and Fun Shop, Sept. 2, at 210 Moody Blvd., in Flagler Beach.
Tom Nugent is a Flagler Palm Coast High School graduate and attended Daytona State College.
The shop will sell, service, and rent bicycles (cruisers), road and mountain bikes, and carry running shoes and gear, as well as offer nutritional programs.

Flagler HBA Receives texas sized accolades at annual conference
The Flagler Home Builders Association returned home with four Association Excellence Awards at the recent National Association of Home Builders executive officer annual conference held in San Antonio.
The Flagler HBA won Association Excellence Awards for the following programs:
- Best Public Relations Program - Flagler County Schools Brick Builders Clubs
- Best Parade or Tour of Homes - Flagler Parade of Homes
- Best Publication (Print or Electronic) - Flagler Parade of Homes Magazine
- Best Cost-Savings Program - The Millennium Club

Third-annual Flagler Restaurant Week expands to three weeks
Flagler Restaurant Week, an event sponsored by the Flagler County Chamber of Commerce, is back for a third year, and it will now be three weeks long, Sep. 8-29.
The event provides local food aficionados and regional visitors an opportunity to experience special dishes and discover new restaurants in the area.

During the three-week event, diners will receive a Flagler Dining Passport to take on their culinary adventure around Flagler County. Diners are encouraged to check in via Facebook and the Flagler Radio app to post photos with the hashtag #FlaglerFoodie for a chance to be crowned as the Flagler Foodie.
Two new businesses in Palm Coast
The Palm Coast Business Assistance Center reported two new commercial businesses opening this week. One was Pitts Glass, a glass and glazing contractor, at 3480 N. U.S. 1. The second was East Coast Market LLC, at 4984 Palm Coast Parkway.
Katie Fazio hired as nurse navigator at hospital
Florida Hospital Flagler has named Katie Fazio as the nurse navigator for cancer patients receiving treatment at the Palm Coast hospital.
In her new role, Fazio will be the single point of contact for patients and their families and serve as a liaison between patients and their medical team. Additionally, she will educate, support and assist patients throughout their individual journeys.
A St. Augustine native, Fazio has been with Florida Hospital Flagler for three years and previously served as a radiation oncology clinic nurse.
Kathy Garcia to develop protocols for HospiceCare
Florida Hospital HospiceCare has selected Kathy Garcia as the new assistant director of clinical operations in Volusia and Flagler counties. In this role, Garcia will be responsible for development, implementation and oversight of clinical protocols, policies and standards.
Garcia has been a nurse for 17 years, with 11 years of experience in hospice.
