New Chamber Chairman John Subers: 'Build relationships and get involved'
After a night of award presentations at the Flagler Chamber’s 50th-annual Installation Celebration on Jan. 19, the culminating speech was also the shortest. John Subers thanked his family and other supporters as he was introduced as the 2018 chairman of the board, and then he had just two things to say: Build relationships and get involved.
“If you are intentional about building relationships with our community, your business and personal life will see a return,” said Subers, whose day job is executive director of the Florida Hospital Flagler Foundation.
“The challenge is how we continue to demonstrate value to members after a year, two or 10, and helping them make the most of the benefits and opportunities they gain by being members,” he said.
To conclude the night, immediate past chairman Jimmy Millhollin (day job: manager of RE/MAX Flagstaff) donned a cowboy hat and fast-talked the crowd in a live auction for three items, including a ride-along with Sheriff Rick Staly, which went for $650.
