Bailee Hurd commits to St. Leo University.
Talking about quickly catching on, Matanzas Lacrosse player Bailee Hurd didn't pick up the sport until freshman year; however, she has started on varsity since.
Hurd received the Most Improved Player award from, then, coach Anna Stewart after her first year
She led the team in scoring in her sophomore and junior seasons with 32 and 52 goals, respectively, picking up Outstanding Offensive Player of the Year award honors from coaches Tony Benvenuto and LeAnn Johnston.
Hurd’s upcoming season goals are to score 72 goals and set the record for most career goals. She currently has 85 goals. She also plays for the LaxManiax 2016 White club lacrosse team.
Celine Vega commits to the University of South Carolina Aiken.
Vega is a 3.4GPA student who pushes herself with honors classes and exemplifies that of a student athlete. On the court, she has averaged north of 17 points per game in a year, and she’s already surpassed the illustrious 1,000-point mark as a junior. On a stacked FPC team this season, her point totals have gone down, but she has been a key contributor, especially in the Bulldogs’ last game, where they had to come from behind against Spruce Creek to remain undefeated at 13-0.
