Almost 1,000 stuffed animals were donated from the local PetSmart to the Christmas Come True foundation.

Christmas Come True received almost 1,000 “Chance and Lucky” stuffed animals to be given out as presents to Flagler County children in need this holiday season on Tuesday, Nov. 17. “This year has been very exciting,” PetSmart Store Director Joe Carwell said. “The people shopping at the store really stepped up for local kids in need.” Enough stuffed animals were donated with community support and through PetSmart to give each child one cat and one dog stuffed animal. The stuffed animals were acquired, bought and donated in just three weeks’ time.
Some of the stuffed animals will be given to Whispering Meadows Ranch disabled children, in Flagler Beach. A large amount of the toys will also be handed-off to the Flagler Beach Police Department for further distribution.
Christmas Come True benefits Flagler County families who do not have the funds to celebrate the holidays. The program supplied a full Christmas experience to 295 children in 2014. A full meal was supplied to the families, and each child received toys, a stocking full of goodies and a new outfit.

Christmas Come True was founded in 2009 to help families get through tough times. So far, the program has successfully provided over 484 Flagler County families, 1,373 children, with a full holiday experience.
