FPC's battle came up short against Spruce Creek
Flagler Palm Coast's 2020-21 campaign came to a close after the team lost to Volusia County rival Spruce Creek. The 1-0 loss on Feb. 16 left the Lady Bulldogs with a 13-5-5 record on the season, but also marks the end of the program's 30th season, all of which have been under head coach, Peter Hald.
In 1991, Hald decided to put together an official girls soccer team at FPC. (Before then, the girls had to play on the boys team.)
Hald visualized something that the girls would make their own; he wanted change girls soccer in the area. Thirty years later, and 19 straight district final appearances, multiple regional quarterfinal and semifinal appearances, a Final Four appearance in 2013 and dozens of girls having committed and signed to play at the collegiate level (most recently Ashley Buglione to Coker University), the legacy continues.
