There will an open play day on Oct. 6, where kids will get to play for free.
Palm Coast's parks are about to become a war zone.
Ultimate Battle Zone Sports LLC is coming to Palm Coast, according to owner Benny Cope. Those interested can hire Ultimate Battle Zone Sports to set up Nerf battles for children's birthday parties, corporate team events and so on. The business provides Nerf guns and sets up obstacles. In addition, archery battles are also available. The archery bows are equipped with foam tips.
"You could get hit square in the face from 2 feet away and it probably wouldn't even leave a mark," Cope said.
Cope added that he projects laser tag to be available six months down the line. All events can be played by children ages 8 and up.
Also, Ultimate Battle Zone Sports does not currently have a building. They bring the fight to you.
"We're 100% mobile," Cope said. "The goal, though, is to eventually purchase a property with a building on it."
He hopes to have a stationary building within the next five years.
The opening of Ultimate Battle Zone Sports is set for Oct. 1. The baseline price is $350 for each event, which can last anywhere from 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Thirty minutes are spent teaching the players the rules and how to use the equipment. The rest of the time slot is for play. Sessions can be booked as close as two days in advance — as long as there is an opening.
Hours are 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, and weekends are wide open.
