Palm Coast resident Shara Brodsky has announced her candidacy for the Palm Coast District 1 City Council seat.
Brodsky has been a Palm Coast resident since 1995 and graduated from Flagler Palm Coast High School. Brodsky said running for the council seat shows her dedication to the city and one of her top priorities would be how the city budget is allocated, a press release from Brodsky’s campaign said.
“I have chosen a path to demonstrate my dedication to Palm Coast and to help implement new ideas for intelligent growth and wise management,” Brodsky said. “I want to give Palm Coast the future it deserves and a place for its citizens to thrive.”
Originally from Staten Island, New York, Brodsky is the daughter and granddaughter of New York Police Officers and is married to a United States Army veteran. She manages the boutique Chez Jacqueline in Palm Coast, located at 25 Palm Harbor Village Way.
Brodsky is known for her commitment to giving back to the community, the press release said. At Chez, she organizes the store’s fundraising events and she is also a member of the following organizations: the Palm Coast Lions Club, Professional Women of Flagler County, and is the event coordinator for S.M.A.R.T. Animal Rescue of Flagler County, the press release said.
Brodsky is not affiliated with any party, as she prefers the freedom to choose “issues and solutions outside the constraints of party platforms,” the press release said.
