Volusia and Flagler counties are preparing for Bike Week 2024, which is expected to draw more than 300,000 additional visitors to the area. During this 10-day event, which begins on Friday, March 1, 2024, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind everyone on the roadways to practice safe driving and common sense.
As Flagler County roads become congested with participants of the 83rd Annual Daytona Beach Bike Week, motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to be careful to prevent accidents and tragedies. FCSO will be out in full force countywide to keep our roadways safe, manage traffic, and focus on aggressive drivers, criminal activity, including motorcycle and vehicle theft. Several DUI and reckless driving operations will be in effect throughout the event.
“If you are participating in Bike Week this year, we want to make sure that you do so safely and use common sense,” said Sheriff Rick Staly. “We will have zero tolerance for drinking and driving and aggressive driving. Our deputies will be out actively patrolling but we ask that everyone drive safely. Be vigilant and drive free from distractions to avoid any dangerous conditions. Remember, look twice to save a life and if you see something suspicious, say something by reporting it to FCSO.”
