Food Truck Palooza, including music, muscle car show and kids zone, set for March 16

The event kicks off the third annual Million Dollar Food-A-Thon benefiting Grace Community Food Pantry

The third annual Million Dollar Food-A-Thon kicks off Saturday, March 16th with “Food Truck Palooza.” Over 40 food trucks, live entertainment, kids fun zone, street vendors and a muscle/collector car show will take over the Flagler Palm Coast High School parking lot on Bulldog Drive.

The event is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Southern Chaos and Robert Keele Band will entertain. A parking donation of $5 and a percentage of food truck sales goes directly to Grace Community Food Pantry.

“We’re asking everybody to come out eat some great food, have a good time, enjoy live music and bring the kids,” David Ayres, Flagler Broadcasting’s president and general manager said.

Pastor Charles Silano, chairman of Grace Community Food Pantry, said the pantry fed 4,500 families a month last year.

"This year," he said, "we have over 5,500 families in need."

Each family registered with the food pantry receives a box filled with a healthy variety of foods that would cost about $150 at a grocery store. Silano has wholesale buying power so he can buy a $150 box of food for about $30.

The Food-A-Thon does more than feed local families in need. The money families don't have to pay for food can go for car payments, gas, medical expenses, children's clothing, etc.
