Ormond Beach Police Foundation supports 2023 police department awardees, family of Cpl. Bakaysa with donations

The Ormond Beach Police Foundation has donated $100,000 to the police department since 2020.

The Ormond Beach Police Department Foundation donated a total of $6,000 to the department's Officer of the Year, Civilian of the Year and the family of a late officer on Monday, Feb. 19.

According to a Facebook post by OBPD, the Foundation has donated over $100,000 to the department to support training, technology, equipment and educational opportunities since 2020.

The Foundation donated $500 to Officer of the Year Jeremy Cline; $500 to Civilian of the Year Avery Randolph, who is the athletic activities specialist for the Ormond Beach Police Athletic League; and $5,000 to the family of the late Cpl. Michael Bakaysa, who died last December after suffering a medical incident during training.
