Security First helps feed families in need for Thanksgiving

As part of its first basket decorating contest, employees collected nonperishable food items and donated over $1,500 in grocery store gift cards.

Security First Insurance hosted its first Giving Thanks Decorating Contest on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

Employees formed teams to create and decorate “Giving Thanks” baskets, according to a press release. Each basket was filled with nonperishable food items, as well as grocery store gift cards to provide a week's worth of meals for families in need.

As part of Security First's collaboration with the Jewish Federation of Volusia and Flagler counties, all donations were collected and distributed to the local community. In addition to a large quantity of food items collected, the team members donated over $1,500 in grocery store gift cards.

As part of the Giving Thanks Decorating Contest, a panel of Security First judges selected first, second, and third-place winners. With a total of 18 baskets, this year’s winners were:

First Place: Customer Support
Second Place: Set Sail, Never Fail
Third Place: Jivin’ Turkeys!
