Flagler Fish Company is proud to announce they have earned a Certificate of Excellence award from TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel site.
The award celebrates hospitality excellence and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor. Winners of the Certificate of Excellence are located all over the world and represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website, with only the top 10 percent receiving the prestigious award.
Coastal Cloud, a Flagler County technology company, is the proud recipient of the second quarter JAXUSA Industry Leader Award. The award was presented to Coastal Cloud co-founders Tim and Sara Hale, on June 6 at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront.
The JAXUSA Partnership Industry Leader award is presented to a company each quarter that has shown outstanding growth and community involvement.
Coastal Cloud has shown that technology companies can flourish in northeast Florida and Flagler County. The company’s winning culture is optimized by its slogan “Live at the Beach – Work in the Cloud.”
Florida Hospital Flagler staff brought school supplies to donate to the Flagler County Education Foundation STUFF Bus, a surplus school bus transformed into a mobile store, on June 6. The acronym “STUFF” stands for “Supplying Things U Find Fundamental” and provides supplies to local school children in need.
Throughout the year, teachers, counselors and school nurses reach out to the Flagler County Education Foundation when they identify students in need.
Florida Hospital Flagler employees donated $2,500-worth of items, filling 12 storage boxes. Staff also gave cash donations to support the S.T.U.F.F. the Bus, giving more than $250.
“We’ve supported the STUFF Bus for the past five years, but this year was incredibly moving as this was the largest collection made by our employees,” said Edilson Goncalves, Florida Hospital Flagler chaplain. “Our employees have tremendous, giving hearts and they truly love caring for our neighbors in need.”
The Palm Coast Elks Lodge #2709 hosted an animal Adopt‑A‑Thon, on June 18, where ten dogs were adopted.
The Elks also donated $1,400 to the Flagler Humane Society, $1,400 to Saffari Rescue, and $365 Blue Moon Cat Sanctuary. In addition, all the groups received food, litter, toys, and other supplies.
The Elks hope to continue to support Animal Rescue Groups in Flagler, planning another animal adoption event this November. The donations were made possible by a grant the lodge received from the Elks National Foundation and member donations.
The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach held their Installation Banquet, on June 16th at the Halifax Plantation Clubhouse, installing their board members for 2016-17, and announcing their Rotarian of the Year and Citizens of the Year.
Installed for 2016-17 were officers: President Cindy Dalecki, Secretary Amanda Bailey, Assistant Secretary Randy Ecker, Treasurer Sean Palmer, Assistant Treasurer Jennifer Feit, President-elect Amanda Bailey, Past President Kathy Somers and Directors Tim O’Donnell, Roseanne Stocker and Donna Tofal.
Member, Area Governor, and Director Tim O’Donnell was selected and Rotarian of the Year. Tim is tirelessly assisting the Rotary club with everything from grants to helping with organization of Rotary’s fundraisers.
The Rotary Club of Flagler Beach Citizens of the Year were announced and are Gerri Marino, Debby Horst, and Paul Lever. They are three community volunteers who are an integral part of Rotary’s Project Share and assist every month with collecting and distributing food for Project Share.
Preferred Management Services is celebrating 21 years in business. President Lea Stokes started the company, on June 23, 1995.
“This is an exciting time for us and I am so thankful to be celebrating yet another year,” Stokes said. “I am proud to say some of our accomplishments over the past few years include a successful expansion into
Volusia County, we broadened our services to include residential maintenance, and have continued to build an excellent team of professionals.”
Florida Hospitals in Volusia and Flagler counties honored local cancer survivors, on June 5, at the Daytona International Speedway’s 500 Club. As part of National Cancer Survivors Day, more than 400
cancer survivors and family members explored the Daytona International Speedway and heard testimonials from cancer survivors and physicians.
Palm Coast cancer survivor Dee Stevens said, “It is fabulous to see so many people who have fought so hard and have survived.”
