Florida Hospital Flagler gives kids free sports physicals
Florida Hospital Flagler gave more than 400 Flagler Palm Coast High School and Matanzas High School students free sports physicals April 29.
"This is a great opportunity given to our kids by a great organization,” Matanzas High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Robert Nocella said in a Florida Hospital Flagler press release. “The staff of
Florida Hospital Flagler and their volunteers did such a great job."
A team of 12 physicians, 12 Daytona State College nursing students and 40 other hospital employees worked together to provide the physicals.
The average cost of a student physical at a walk-in clinic is $30, so Florida Hospital Flagler provided about $12,000 worth of free services in one evening, according to the release.
Florida Hospital Flagler names new chief operating officer
JoAnne King has been named Florida Hospital Flagler’s Chief Operating Officer.
She has almost 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry and has been with Florida Hospital for about six years, according to a Florida Hospital press release.
She is responsible for ensuring the hospital runs efficiently and stays within budget. She will coordinate multiple departments and ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
King is also a licensed clinical social worker and a member of the board of directors for the Florida Hospices and Palliative Care Association.

Flagler’s Chiumento Selis Dwyer expands to Volusia County
Flagler County law firm Chiumento Selis Dwyer, headquartered in Palm Coast, has opened an office in Ormond Beach.
“While our roots remain in Flagler County, we wanted a closer location for our Volusia County clientele and decided this was the right time to expand our office space,” Michael Chiumento III, the firm’s managing partner, said in a Chiumento Selis Dwyer press release. “As the firm continues to expand, we will continue to expand our services to meet the needs of our Volusia clients,” he added.
Chiumento Selis Dwyer was founded in 1973 and employs nine lawyers and 25 support staff and paralegals.
It offers “personal injury law, bankruptcy law, real estate law, tax law, wills, trusts and probate services, commercial litigation, business and corporate law, land use zoning and development, construction, government practice and elder law,” according to the press release.
Chiumento Selis Dwyer’s headquarters are at 145 City Place, Suite 301. The new Ormond Beach office is at 1414 W. Granada Blvd., Suite 4 in Ormond Beach.
