United Way honors Intracoastal Bank
Intracoastal Bank received the United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties’ Live United Community Award for the first quarter of 2014.
“What makes this bank unique in our community is that leadership understands the concept of ‘grow our community and our bank will grow,’” United Way President Ray Salazar said. “The entire leadership team is committed to community service, volunteering their time and talent to numerous not for profit organizations.”
Bank employees helped sponsor a number of events or local nonprofits and charities from January to March of 2014, including the Eagle Boy Scout Dinner, Flagler Education Mardi Gras and a Fearless and Focused Luncheon to benefit the United Way’s Women’s Initiative Flagler Chapter, according to a United Way of Volusia-Flagler Counties press release.
Intracoastal Bank CEO Bruce Page sits on the United Way Board of Directors and Executive Committee, according to the press release. Other Intracoastal Bank employees are involved with the Flagler Education Foundation, Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral Health, Flagler Chamber of Commerce, Florida Hospital and other organizations, according to the press release.
The Live United Community Award is given out to one organization each quarter in recognition of outstanding contributions to the local community, and was started in 2010, according to the press release.

Haven Hospice welcomes Jean MacAllister to Bunnell staff
Jean MacAllister has joined Haven Hospice Bunnell’s staff as a volunteer coordinator.
She will coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, placement and retention, integrate volunteers throughout the Bunnell teams, and create and implement annual strategic volunteer development plans.
MacAllister served as volunteer coordinator for the Flagler Volunteer Services for seven years, assisted in coordinating Flagler County School volunteers — where she initiated the “I Can Read” reading mentor program for kids in kindergarten through third grade — and has more than 10 years of human resources experience with volunteer staff.
Haven Hospice is a nonprofit community hospice, licensed in Florida since 1980.
