PALM COAST — Devon Stacey Burney, 20, Tamarick Shaquille Asbell, 20, Tyrell Williams, 19, and a 16-year-old minor were arrested Sunday for the burglary of a home on Palm Coast’s Pine Brook Lane.

The defendants entered the home, according to the police report, and took laptops, tablets (one of which was a school-issued tablet), cell phones, an iPad, cash and jewelry.

The total estimated value of the goods was about $3,000.

While fleeing police, the defendants attempted to discard a black backpack which contained a KelTec 9mm handgun. A second, pink backpack was also discarded; it contained an X-Box 360 and two gaming controllers, which had been Christmas presents for the children.

The pink backpack had the name of the juvenile defendant printed on it — it was used by the child for school.

The arresting officer also noted that the suspects are known members of the “Grove Street Gang” and wore the gang’s trademark camouflage garb.

“By wearing the colors and being known gang members, it is believed the defendant’s actions were for the purpose of benefitting, promoting or furthering the interests of a criminal street gang and should be enhanced under Florida Statutes 874.03 and 874.04,” Deputy Dennis Lashbrook wrote in his report.
