Zachary Sean Game, who robbed a Publix in Deltona, in 2012, was convicted to life in prison Friday.

Zachary Sean Game, 23, was sentenced to life in prison Friday, Jan. 18, for robbing a Publix in Delton at gunpoint, in April 2012.
The life sentence was on a count of robbery with a firearm, as a Prison Release Reoffender, and Game was sentenced to 15 years in prison on a second count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, with a three-year minimum mandatory.
He was also sentenced on the violation of probation case (a home invasion robbery) to 30 years in the Department of Corrections, to run concurrent with the life sentence in the new case.
Assistant State Attorney James Disinger prosecuted Game in November for the crime. Disinger said after a two-day trial, the jury took 20 minutes to find Game guilty as charged.
Game and his co-defendant went to the Publix grocery store in Deltona and placed a package of Oreo cookies on the counter. When the cashier rang up the sale and opened the cash register, the men attempted to grab money from the register. Another employee saw what was happening and tried to stop the men but Game displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and jabbed the gun at the second clerk’s ear.
Both men fled the store and were later apprehended in Daytona Beach.
