New life has been given to the push to open a Trader Joe's in Ormond Beach.

A Facebook page titled "Open a Trader Joe's in Ormond Beach, Florida" got a lot of feedback from fans recently when it asked why they thought Ormond was the best location for a Trader Joe's.

"Here in Ormond or even close has no whole food stores," Bettie Mustin commented. "We have two empty locations on Granada Blvd. in Ormond which would make great locations. Easy to get to and in the business area. Young and old would be benefit from shopping at Trader Joe's. Please consider us."

"Right now, MANY people are driving to the nearest Whole Foods in Winter Park (an hour each way.)," Kim Belden commented. "We have the population, the demographics and the workforce to make Trader Joe's Ormond Beach location popular. The store would be packed every day, seven days a week. Right now, I go to three different stores to get my groceries. If T.J.'s were here, it would be ONE."

The owners of the page also urged fans to sign a petition. Currently, it has 1,295 signatures.
