Charles Jimmy Ownbey, 74, of Dalton, Ga., was killed Thursday, in a crash at the 288 mile marker of Interstate 95, south of Palm Coast Parkway.
Ownbey was traveling south on his 2013 Harley Davidson FLHX, at about 2:25 p.m., according to reports, when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle entered onto the grass shoulder and struck the trees.
Ownbey and his passenger, Rebecca Mae Ownbey, 59, of Dalton, Ga., were ejected from the vehicle.
Rebecca Ownbey was transported to Florida Hospital Flagler with serious injuries.
Speed was not a factor in the crash, police report. Alcohol tests are still pending.
