Palm Coast has started work on Bulldog Drive, and the city will close the street to through traffic Feb. 24.
Flagler Palm Coast High School and nearby businesses will be accessible throughout the construction, but drivers headed to the Central Park area of Town Center should take other routes, according to a city of Palm Coast news release.
Detour signs will be posted, and the detour will remain in place until the construction ends in fall of this year, according to a news release.
The project, designed to improve stormwater drainage and traffic safety, includes a two-lane reconstruction with a northbound left turn lane into the high school.
P&S Paving Inc. of Daytona Beach, the firm the city hired for the project, will move the main entrance to the school, add turn lanes on State Road 100 and replace a traffic light at State Road 100 and Bulldog Drive.
Bus circulation and traffic inside the school campus will also be modified during the project.
