Business Assistance Center has $485,000 impact in August, plans new programs

In just the month of August, the Palm Coast Business Assistance Center helped launch two businesses, brought 65 attendees to its Women in Business sessions, put in more than 60 consulting hours and had a total economic impact of $485,000, according to its monthly impact summary.

About 70% of the center’s time is spent working with businesses with sales greater than $250,000 and more than two years in business, but much of the center’s impact has come from startups — in July, more than 67%.

So far in 2013, the center has spent 341 consulting hours with pre-venture and startup companies less than two years old. Those businesses generated $1,518,000 of economic impact, the equivalent of $4,452 for each consulting hour. The average return for businesses older than two years was about half that: $2,213.

The business center plans to launch a business academy program and a home-based business series in 2014. For more information about Palm Coast Business Assistance Center programs, call 986-4764.
