City sewer work starting Sept. 9
In order to inhibit root growth intrusion, the city of Ormond Beach will be performing a preventative-maintenance project on portions of the sanitary sewer collection system.
Municipal Sales Inc. has been contracted to apply an herbicide in various parts of the city, beginning Sept. 9 and to be completed by Sept. 27. For a full project map, visit ormondbeach.org
Root growth has been found to be a primary contributor to blockages in the collection system. The herbicide proposed for use by the contractor has a sulfur smell, which can sometimes be detected inside of facility connected to the sewer line, if a drain trap is defective. If a sulfur smell is detected, open your windows and ventilate your house or business until the odor disappears.
Call 518-528-6855 or 676-3230.
