A call to police from a woman claiming to be held against her will resulted in two drug-related arrests Wednesday, according to the Ormond Beach Police Department.

Police responded to a home at 1267 Gallaten Road after an investigator at the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office received the call. Recognizing the house as the subject of several narcotics complaints, the investigator also alerted the Volusia County Eastside Task Force.

When police arrived, they found Krystal Doerschuk, 33, outside. She gave them permission to enter the home, where police found equipment and chemicals commonly associated with methamphetamine manufacturing, including 96 grams of meth oil, a product that is just a step or two away from becoming the final drug. It is valued at about $100 a gram, according to a police spokesman.

After dismantling the lab, police arrested Doerschuk, charging her with trafficking in methamphetamine and manufacture of methamphetamine with a child present. Daniel Jackson, 28, was also charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and manufacture of methamphetamine.

Jackson and Doerschuk were transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail, in Daytona Beach. Also in the home were two children, a 14-year-old and a 10-year-old, who were turned over to the custody of a family member.

The Eastside Narcotics Task Force is a multi-agency force of investigators from the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Ormond Beach Police Department and New Smyrna Beach Police Department that shares resources and crosses jurisdictional boundaries to combat street-level drug and vice crimes.
