NEWS BRIEFS: Granada fishing pier to close for maintenance

Piers to be partially closed

The wooden fishing pier connecting Bailey Riverbridge Gardens and Cassen Park will be partially closed for maintenance until the middle of January. The southern side connecting to Cassen Park will be closed during the weekdays but will reopen for weekend use. The northern side connection to Bailey Riverbridge Gardens will remain open.

During this period, the aluminum pedestrian guardrail beneath the east and west end of the Granada Bridge will be replaced. Contact Paul MacDonald, landscape architect, at 676-3269.

Around town ...

The Nova Community Center, at 440 N. Nova Road, and the South Ormond Neighborhood Center, at 176 Division Ave., will reopen Monday, Dec. 2, after scheduled floor refinishing.

The splash pads at Andy Romano Beachfront Park, 839 S. Atlantic Ave., and the South Ormond Neighborhood Center, 176 Division Ave., will close Dec. 1 and will reopen March 15.

All nonemergency city offices will be closed for Thanksgiving weekend, Nov. 28 and 29.

City commission meeting in December

The next Ormond Beach City Commission meeting will be 7 p.m. Dec. 3 at City Hall, 22 S. Beach St. This will be the only commission meeting in December.
