Sheriff swears in 11 new deputies

The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office welcomed 11 new deputies on Thursday.

Sheriff Jim Manfre administered the oath of office to them during an afternoon ceremony held at the Operations Center.

Following the completion of a six-week, in-house training program, nine of the deputies will be assigned to the agency’s Neighborhood Services Division. The other two will be assigned to the Detention Services Division.

“The addition of this diverse group of these deputies brings us one step closer in reaching acceptable staffing levels that will help us as we respond to the needs of our ever-growing community,” Manfre said in a statement.

The new deputies are as follows:

Frank Barbagallo, of Palm Coast, has been a law enforcement officer for four years and comes to the Sheriff’s Office from the Bunnell Police Department. He will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Donald Brock, of Bunnell, retired from the Ormond Beach Police Department following 26 years of service, where he worked in patrol and criminal investigations. He will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Shantel Bruno, of Palm Coast, will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Fiona Ebrill, of Bunnell, will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Edward Faircloth, of Palm Coast, has worked for the Sheriff’s Office for the past three years as a detention deputy. He is dual-certified and will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Jovany Jimenez has relocated from Miami to Palm Coast. He will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Daniel LaVerne, of Palm Coast, will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Paula Priester, of St. Augustine, has been a law enforcement officer for the past seven years and comes to the agency from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. She will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Jason Williams is relocating from Jacksonville to Palm Coast. He is retired from the U.S. Navy and has prior military police experience. He will be assigned to the Neighborhood Services Division.

Tiffany Ford, of Sanford, will be assigned to the Detention Services Division.

Mark Sousa, of Palm Coast, was employed as a detention deputy with Volusia County Corrections. He will be assigned to the Detention Services Division.

James Troiano, of DeLand, retired from the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office at the rank of captain after 20 years of service. He also served as chief of police for the city of High Springs Florida Police Department for 3.5 years. He will serve as a reserve deputy.
