Man who jumped from Flagler Beach bridge identified

The man who jumped from the Flagler Beach bridge on Tuesday night has been identified as 40-year-old James F. Clark, according to a Flagler Beach Police Department report.

Clark told Flagler Beach Police Department deputies that he was having a hard time, and that's why he jumped off the bridge, the report states.

According to the nurse at Halifax Hospital, Clark suffered no major injuries and was scheduled to be released from the hospital.

An unidentified male jumped off the Flagler Beach bridge in an apparent suicide attempt Tuesday night, according to Lt. Bob Weber, public information officer for the Flagler County Sheriff's Office.

The suspect was not identified as of 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. A trauma alert was called in on the subject, who was then transported via Volusia County Sheriff's Office's Air One helicopter to Halifax Medical Center, Weber said.
