A precautionary boil water notice has been issued for 85 homes in Palm Coast’s L-section, officials announced Friday.

The notice was announced because of a loss in pressure in portions of the city’s water distribution system.
The affected areas are in the Matanzas Woods Parkway area, including homes on Luther Drive, East Ludlow Lane, West Ludlow Lane and Lucas Lane.

As a result, the bacteriological quality of water in this part of the system is questionable. All water used in the affected areas for consumption and cooking purposes should be be boiled at a rolling boil for a minimum of one minute until. Bottled water may also be used.

Work is scheduled to begin 9 a.m. July 8, the announcement states.
