A 74-year-old man arrested for exposing himself to minors

A 74-year-old Holly Hill man was arrested last week for exposing himself to juveniles at Ormond Beach’s Central Park, 601 Fleming Ave.

James Sweet was charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition by a person 18 years or older to a victim younger than 16, according to reports.

Two minors told police that Sweet was on the fishing dock, and when they started talking with him, he began touching himself over his shorts. The children walked away, but when they came back later, they saw him exposing himself.

One of the juveniles said Sweet had behaved similarly the Saturday prior. Sweet claimed that he was urinating and looked around first to make sure no one was watching.

Report: Hand Avenue, public works update

Construction on Hand Avenue is still expected to be completed ahead of schedule, with most of the paving and utility work expected done by the end of July.

Paving from Center Street to the canal crossing is expected done mid-September. The final asphalt lift from Nova Road to U.S. 1, and final punch-out, should be done by mid-October.
