A temporary sign will be installed for approximately two weeks to test the location and design.

The city will place a temporary banner, at the intersection of Granada Boulevard and Williamson Boulevard, March 8, to represent what a proposed welcome sign would look like.

The City Commission discussed, during a Jan. 15 workshop, a proposed welcome sign for that location, but felt the $248,758 cost was too much.

The proposed location, which may be limited due to a 1999 resolution and lease agreement, has some logistical issues, such as having to fill in a ditch and relocate utility lines, which increases costs.

According to the city, the banner will allow officials to review the location, as well as assess any concerns that may be arise. The temporary sign will remain in place for approximately two weeks.
