Local artists Dan McFee and Karen Ann Patton packed their pieces of artwork into their cars last Sunday and took them down to Ocean Books & Art, in Flagler Beach, for a showing.
Mcfee sold a large oil painting called "The Loop Marsh," and Patton sold four of her pastels.
Owner of Ocean Publishing, Frank Gromling, credits their success to not only their talents but also the renewed life he's seeing in the current market.
“We have a pretty decent summer session, but then things slow down," Gromling said. "We are now expecting them to do quite well. They are highly talented.”
Mcfee, who has been oil painting since the fourth grade, said his age urged him to get more serious about the craft.
"I'm getting older now, so I figured I better get after this," Mcfee chuckled.
Tim Murphy, a wood sculptor, has also sold some of his sculptures at the gallery.
The gallery and bookstore located across the street from the beach on Oceanshore Boulevard, focuses on marine life and conservation.
