An intoxicated Ormond Beach man had a wild night he may not remember, but the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office may never forget.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s Office, Eric Willard, 23, first came into contact with police shortly after midnight when he got into a loud argument with his mother while they were at Peckers Pub. After being escorted out of the bar, the two started banging on the doors and trying to get back inside. They were given trespass warnings.

Next on Willard’s list of stops was the Publix on Ocean Shore Blvd where he tried to open the doors by prying them apart and ramming shopping carts into them. With no luck there, he moved on to the neighboring Bealls Outlet where he climbed the roof and entered the building through a conduit until he fell through the ceiling into the store. He exited through the rear of the store without taking anything.

Though Willard was gone before police arrived, they recognized him on the store’s surveillance videos and arrested him Monday afternoon.

He was booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail, in Daytona Beach.
