Artists, do want your work featured at the Flagler Fine Art Festival? A new fall session for the juried festival begins Sept. 15, and organizers are now taking artist applications. Artists who book before midnight on Aug. 31 will get an early booking discount. To apply, visit  www.FlaglerFineArtFest.com.

The festival features Florida artists and will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 15, Oct. 20 and Nov. 17 at Veterans Park in downtown Flagler Beach.

Festival organizers are also accepting business sponsorship inquiries and applications from performing artists and people interested in volunteering. To learn more, call festival director Justine Wintersmith at 986-9567 or send an email to [email protected].

+ Attention, men: Ready to walk a mile in a lady's shoes?

Gentlemen, do you think you’re man enough to walk a mile in a lady’s shoes? Literally?

The second-annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes fundraising event for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault will let you prove it, and even provide the shoes: red high heels custom-made in men’s sizes for the event.

Come out to walk or just to watch the show and cheer. Men can walk on their own or join a team from a local organization, school or business. Walkers pay $40 to walk in the red heels or $30 if they bring their own shoes. Men who want to use the red high heels to walk the mile-long course — two laps around the lake at Central Park — must register by Sept. 3 so organizers can order shoes in their sizes.

To register for the walk or sponsor the event, call the Family Life Center administration offices at 437-7610.
