Residents of Flagler County now have the opportunity to learn what it takes to educate more than 12,000 students each day through a new program called Connect 2 Flagler Schools.

From peeks into the classroom to driving a school bus, participants will gain a new appreciation for how a public school district runs and the people dedicated to the student it serves.

Participants will learn about the breadth of opportunities afforded to students in the Flagler County School District. Four half-day sessions cover every facet of the school system with school tours, hands-on demonstrations, student interaction and time with the experts in their fields.

The sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the mornth, September through December. The location of the sessions will vary.

To register, contact Sabrina Crosby, special projects coordinator for the district, at 437-7526. A $45 enrollment fee will cover class expenses, icnluding breakfast and lunch at each session. Register by Sept. 4.
