It’s a girl! Buttercup, a Florida cracker heifer, is the newest addition to the Florida Agricultural Museum's livestock collection. Cracker cattle are descendants of the animals introduced to Florida by the Spaniards during the 16th century. Today, the breed is regaining its popularity because the cattle are easy to care for and less expensive to maintain than other breeds. They thrive on law-quality grass and are adapted to our hot and humid climate.
