This summer the Bunnell FFA attended the annual Forestry Training Camp in at O’leno State Park. Members were grouped with state foresters and forest rangers who instructed them through the week about dendrology, which is the identification of trees, forest insects and disorders, how to measure timber, how to interpret topographical maps, forestry equipment, and determine acreage.

While they were not competing in activities, students were studying for a test that was to be administered at the end of the week. The test consisted of both the practical and textbook knowledge the students were taught during the week. Following the test, there is a banquet that is held the same evening, At the banquet, members are awarded for various activities throughout the week such as cleanest cabin, winning sports and other competitions, and the test. Miranda Kuleski, McKenzie Smith, and Katherine Gordon won the cleanest cabin award. Katherine Gordon was also in the Top 10 First Time camper group. Austin Davis was the top returning camper.
