A Palm Coast liquor store was robbed Monday by an unknown man who fired a single shot in the direction of the store clerk as she fled. No one was injured, but the window of a nearby Subway restaurant was shattered.

Deputies say that a black male in his early 30s entered Sharps Discount Liquour around 9:23 p.m. and demanded that the clerk give him the money in the cash register and a bottle of Hennessy liqour. The clerk complied.

The suspect then ordered the clerk to the rear of the store. She walked out from behind the counter and fled, seeking safety at a neary Subway restaurant. The suspect followed her and fired after her, deputies say.

The suspect is estimated to between 5 feet, 7 inches and 5 feet, 8 inches tall. He was wearing a plaid shirt, dark jeans and a baseball cap. The suspect was last seen fleeing the area on foot across the shopping plaza parking lot toward the Sun Trust Bank.

The suspect in this case may be the same suspect involved in a robbery of the store in October 2012. The same store was also robbed on Dec. 21, 2012.

The store was also the location of an armed robbery in October 2011, a crime for which Jacquez Roland was found guilty this year. He will serve 40 years in prison.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Det. Joe Costello of the Investigative Services Division of the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office at 586-4802 or to call North East Florida Crime Stopper at 1-888-277-TIPS.

Tippers can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a $1,000 reward.

Below is video surveillance from the Winn-Dixie, located in the same shopping plaza as the liquor store.
