Carl Laundrie is 'awake, conversing' day after crash

Carl Laundrie is awake, able to eat on his own and converse, according to County Commission Chairman Nate McLaughlin.

Laundire may be released from the hospital as soon as Monday, McLaughlin said.

Carl Laundrie, the communications manager who interacts with the press on behalf of Flagler County administration, is in critical condition after crashing into a pond by the Emergency Operations Center today, Aug. 9.

According to County Chairman Nate McLaughlin, Laundrie was pulled out of the pond in his SUV after a seizure of some kind. Laundrie had to be resuscitated, but he is now breathing on his own.

More information on Laundrie's condition will be published when it is available.
