A Palm Coast man was arrested shortly after 5 p.m. Wednesday in connection with the June 20 armed robbery of the Wells Fargo Bank, located in the Town Center Shopping Center on Belle Terre Parkway.

As a result of a more than month-long investigation, Lakhram Mahadeo, 26, of 10 Waystone Place, was taken into custody by Flagler County Sheriff’s Office investigators at his residence. He was transported to the Investigative Services Division, where, after questioning, Mahadeo was charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon and grand theft.

Sheriff’s Office investigators said Mahadeo was the lone robber who entered the bank shortly after 4 p.m. June 20, brandishing a handgun and demanding money. At the time of the robbery, Mahadeo was wearing a tan jump suit, an Iron Man mask, and tan boots and gloves. Investigators were able to recover the handgun and clothing used in the robbery, but not the Iron Man mask. Investigators said Mahadeo was the owner of a maroon 2009 Honda Accord that was used during the commission of the robbery.

Mahadeo, who has prior military experience, left the bank with $2,300, according to police reports.

The vehicle has since been repossessed.

“Our investigators did an excellent job in identifying the suspect in this case. I am pleased that we have been able to take this man off the streets before he hurts anyone or commits any other crimes,” said Flagler County Sheriff Jim Manfre.

Mahadeo is being held in the Flagler County Inmate Facility on $100,000 bond.
