The upcoming City Repertory Theatre show, “Line,” is more or less a showcase of Flagler Palm Coast High School alumni. Four out of the five cast members graduated from FPC between 2004 and 2008.

Josh Fagundes, Bruce Popielarski, Ali Bonner and John Birney star in the one-act play, which was written by Israel Horovitz. Jim Lynam, of Ocala, rounds out the cast.

The adult dramedy explores human’s national need to be No. 1 as five people wait in line for an undisclosed event. They use every ploy imaginable to achieve top honors, including sex and violence.

“It’s fun to see the characters develop throughout the play,” said Birney, who plays a pushover. “I like to play characters that I'm not used to.”

Bonner, who is returning to the stage for the first time since high school, said she was nervous about her character at first. But she loves being back in theater, she said.

“Line” has appeared on Broadway for 40 years and will open at 7:30 April 19, and run April 20, 25, 26, 27 and 2 p.m. April 21.

Cost is $15 for adults and $10 for students. Call 585-9415 or go to crtpalmcoast.com.
