+ Florida Hospital Flagler surgeon to speak at international conference
Florida Hospital Flagler orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Gay has been selected to give a presentation on the results of research on calcific tendonitis of the rotator cuff at the 12th-annual International Congress of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery in Nagoya, Japan, April 10-12.
Gay and Dr. Simon Bell, from the Melbourne Shoulder and Elbow Centre in Melboure, Australia, completed a study comparing the outcomes of two different types of treatment for calcific tendonitis of the rotator cuff. In the study, one group had calcium deposits excised, while the second group had calcium deposits excised in conjunction with bone being removed from the undersurface of the shoulder blade. This study indicated that the second group had slightly better functional outcomes with no increase in complications.
Gay specializes in disorders of the shoulder, elbow and wrist, and treats athletic injuries, degenerative conditions and traumatic injuries of the upper extremity. He is an internationally recognized researcher on disorders of the shoulder and elbow.

The Flagler County Chamber of Commerce & Affiliates formed a new partnership with the Holley Group, a local sales and marketing firm. As a part of the agreement, the Holley Group will handle advertising sales for all publications produced by the chamber.
