Local teens Dillon Wehde, Janessa Spina, Chelsie Wehde, Ryan Antos, Cassidy Wehde and Sydney Barksdale dressed as characters from “The Hunger Games” Thursday, March 22, for the local midnight premiere.
“The Hunger Games” broke records with its $155 million opening weekend box office sales, the highest for a nonsequel movie and third overall behind “The Dark Night” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.”
“The characters remind you of your sister, your brother, your best friend and yourself,” said Chelsie Wehde, who dressed as the movie’s main character, Katniss. “Perhaps this is why we chose to dress up to go see the movie. Not just because we love being fun and spontaneous, but also because the book and the movie is an adventure that we’ve all lived together.”
