The Flagler School of Dance competition team recently attended the Star Power regional dance competition where it won 14 first-place awards.
The dance school’s team consists of 41 dancers ages 7 to 18. All 14 routines entered in the contest earned first-place scores in their style divisions: ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, tap and hip hop.
Many routines placed in the top 10 overall of their age division, as well. “Raindrop Polka,” a ballet entry, earned the elegance and grace award in that age division.
The dancers now qualify to enter all 14 routines in the upcoming national competition July 2 through July 6, in Orlando.
