Flagler Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram now offers discounts to business owners, their families and their workers.

Since Jim Russell was brought over from Bradenton last year to become Flagler Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram’s new general manager, the dealership has seen some changes.

The sales team jumped from six to 10 employees. The service department added two workers. And, launched March 1, the company’s new Business-to-Business campaign has begun offering discounts and rebates to Flagler-based company-owners, their workers and their families.

“It’s special pricing,” Russell said. “It’s business-to-business. And it’s kind of to take care of the people who are in (the) commercial (sector).”

Although discounts vary from vehicle to vehicle, Russell added, used car sales can see savings up to 10%; 5% for new cars. Service and parts are also offered up to 10% off.

Also beginning this year, appointments are no longer necessary for service to all clients. Free carwashes and vacuums are also offered to all service clients who request them, as are free alignment checks from the dealership’s new front-end alignment machine, purchased in late February.

These changes, according to Russell, are part of the branch’s goal to match Chrysler’s recent national sales spike of more than 30%. He is also looking to increase service volume by about the same figure.

“We’re trying to grow the business here in Palm Coast,” he added, “and we’re hoping that the Business-to-Business (plan) is the thing that pushes us toward those goals. … We’re beginning to ratchet up now.”

Salesmen Pete Fenn and Kevin Kelson are the dealership’s current Business-to-Business specialists.

A 30-year industry veteran, Russell believes that, in terms of customer relations, there has never been a better time to sell cars.

“The negotiation process is pretty nonexistent now,” he said, citing the Internet’s influence in educating consumers. “Instead of trying to sell a car, you have to help people buy a car. … This is the best process in the world.”
