Artist Linda Solomon will team up with Lee Pinkerson, musician and songwriter, 7 p.m. Friday, March 2, for a concert and live painting at Hollingsworth Gallery, 160 Cypress Point Parkway, Suite 209B.

Solomon will paint as Pinkerson sings, allowing the song to inspire the work.

“It’s the idea that art and music are one,” Solomon said. “I really want to show people, by painting while she sings, it’s how we’re inspired and whatever form it comes out, it’s art.”

To prepare for the event, Solomon has been listening to Pinkerson’s music in her studio while she paints.

“The purpose of my art is to bring joy and peace in whatever that looks like to you,” she said. “I personally am an energetic painter, full of life, and some of my paintings dance their joy right on to your walls. Also, I am a deeply spiritual person with love, peace and stillness as my source.”

According to the promotional flyer, Pinkerton uses intricate picking patterns with her six-string guitar and sings "visionary lyrics. ... She said returning to the natural world as a source of healing is a recurring theme in her songwriting. She draws on the values of the Native American and Ancient Greek cultures."

Cost is $10 and includes beverages.
