Panera Bread has targeted April 4 as the opening date for its new Palm Coast restaurant, according to Eryn Catter, director of public relations and sales for the restaurant.

The initial date was April 18, but Catter confirmed via email Friday that the date has been moved up to April 4. Restaurant openings typically occur on Wednesdays, Catter added.

In addition, Panera will hold a job fair 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10, at Panera Bread’s location, 5880 State Road 100. It’s located in Town Center, in front of the Hilton Garden Inn.

To apply, go to www.panerabread.jobs.

Anywhere from 60 to 90 employees will be hired with varying wages, Catter said.

Panera opened in 1981. As of Sept. 27, 2011, there were 1,504 company-owned and franchise-operated bakery-cafes in 40 states and in Ontario, Canada, according to the company’s website.
